meet the artist
Keagan Raath is the name, I’m a Gauteng based tattoo artist. Originally hailing from Gqeberha, I finished my degree in Fine Arts at NMU and decided to move up to Pretoria and devote the rest of my life to the tattoo gods.
I’ve been tattooing for three years now and I’ll never look back, I have a vision to create a studio space where people from all walks of life feel welcome and safe. I would like to attract all creatives to a unique space where they can bounce ideas off of one another and give each other constructive criticisms in order to further themselves and those around them, all while sharing passion for art and anything creative.
Tattooing is honestly my life blood, it’s an addiction. I love anything manga or comic related( I’m a massive nerd), realism, dark fantasy or neotraditional. If you like pop culture and cult classic movies, I’d smash that too.

THE DAY OF THE TATTOO
Everyone talks about tattoo after care but tattoo pre-care is just as important. The day before your appointment, make sure that there’s no alcohol and that you’re getting an early night so that you’re fresh for your appointment the next day. If your skin feels dry, maybe put some moisturising cream on the area getting tattooed to make sure it’s in optimal condition for getting tattooed.
The day of the tattoo, make sure that you eat a hearty breakfast before your tattoo and bring lots of sugary snack and liquids along for your appointment. During the tattoo, your body will be in state of high adrenaline which means that you’re burning through all the sugar in your body, if you don’t replenish those sugars, you won’t have a fun time. Make sure that you eat well through the day and if at some point during our tattoo, you don’t feel too good, let me know and I’ll help you out.
